An optional reference from the sender, for example their order number ABC123 (up to 40 characters). The office enters it on New booking (or with Edit until pickup) and customers enter it as Your reference when they book in the portal.
When there is one it is printed on every label (SENDER REF) and on the consignment note, shown in the sender's and receiver's emails (subject "Ref ABC123") and receiver SMS, on the tracking page, the job page and the portal, and the Consignments search finds jobs by it. Jobs without a reference look exactly as before.
In the driver app the reference is shown in large type. At delivery the driver asks the receiver for their number and ticks Receiver reference matches before Complete delivery; if it does not match, the driver does not deliver and calls the office or uses Could not deliver. The check is recorded on the proof of delivery and in the timeline. Deliveries from older app versions are recorded as not checked.
